This event is the culmination of the entire 2014 season with 4 races in a single day! Choose from the Ogden Valley Half, Intermediate, Sprint and Kids Tri State Championship races! Combine these races with vendors, sponsors, and festivities for the whole family – right in the heart of the beautiful Ogden Valley in Huntsville, Utah!

Below is information regarding the events:

1) OGDEN VALLEY HALF – Saturday September 13th. 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run. Swimmers will start this endurance fest at Pineview Reservoirs Cemetery Point Beach (NEW SWIM LOCATION). After the 2 loop swim, cyclists will bike 2 loops around Pineview reservoir, the town of Eden, and traveling past the Huntsville Monastery (clockwise). After the 2-loop mostly flat ride, athletes will bike into Huntsville City Park to T2.  Upon exiting T2,  athletes will run around 13.1 miles around the town of Huntsville and surrounding areas.

IMPORTANT:  The Half Distance Bike Course will be marked with arrows on the road and RED Signs with White Arrows.  The Olympic and Sprint Bike Courses will be marked with the traditional Blue TriUtah A-frame signage.

2) INTERMEDIATE DISTANCE – Saturday September 13th.  1 mile swim, 33 mile bike, 10k run. The 1 mile swim start at Cemetery Point Beach .  Swimmers will swim two loops around bouys placed in the wakeless area on the lake. Olympic Distance bike course consists of two smaller loops around Pineview reservoir,  with a flat 10k run wrapping things up in Huntsville State Park.

3) SPRINT – Saturday, September 13th. 850 yard swim, 16 mile bike, 5k run. The sprint tri will take place at the same location as the Half and Intermediate distance races, consisting of a one loop swim, one 16 mile bike around Pineview reservoir, and a 5k run in Huntsville.

4) KIDS TRI – Saturday, September 13th. 4pm.  - The Kids Tri will start at Cemetery Point Beach at 4pm and will consist of a 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, and 1 mile run to the finish-line in Huntsville.  This race is open to all kids 10 years and under.  Top awards to 1-10th place boys and girls!


Top Event Awards will be given for overall, age-group, clydesdale & athena divisions.

The Utah State Triathlon Championship will be given to each individual (1st – 3rd) with the highest number of points earned throughout the TriUtah 2014 racing season in an athletes respecive age-group or overall division. Awards will be presented Saturday Afternoon at the post race BBQ & Awards Ceremony In Huntsville, Utah.


Included in your entry fee is a ticket to our awards banquet and ceremony, where we will have Burgers and Brats waiting for you while we crown our Utah State Champions!

*additional banquet tickets are available for family and friends for only $20 per person at time of registration and at packet pickup.

Packet Pick-Up

Wednesday – September 10th – 6-8pm – SBR Cycles – 858 South State Street, Orem, UT

Thursday – September 11th – 6-8pm – Wasatch Running Center – 9000 South State Street –  Sandy, UT

Friday – September 12th – 7-8pm – Huntsville Town Park – Huntsville, UT  (home of T2 & Finish-Line)

Saturday – September 13th – 6:30am – 7:30am – Huntsville Town Park – Huntsville, UT (home of T2 & Finish-line)

REMINDER: Per USA Triathlon rules, you MUST have current photo ID at packet pickup. You MUST pick up your packet in person. You may not have someone else pick up your packet for you. NO PHOTO ID, NO RACE, period.

Note: You MAY NOT pick up a packet/timing chip for another person. This can lead to timing chip switch, etc. You must pick up your own packet, no exceptions.

Race Day – Saturday September 13th

6:00 am – Transitions Open  - T1 is at Cemetery Point Beach 1.6 miles away from the finish & T2.  T2 is located at Huntsville Town Park next to the finish-line.

Transition Area Logistics:  There will be labels with your specific race number on the bike racks. Find your spot and set up your T2 running gear.  Give your self plenty of time to set up at T2 FIRST.  Once your T2 gear is set-up, proceed on your bike to T1 at Cemetery Point Beach.  Labels will also be placed on the T1 racks as well with your race number.  Be sure to bring a large personal Transition Bag/backpack to haul your bike and swim gear to T1.  Ride your bike to T2. Cars are not allowed into the Cemetery Point area on race day.  We also be providing you a T1 gear plastic bag to place all your gear in.  If your personal bag/backpack is too large for the gear bag, you will need to attached the gear back to your personal bag/backpack.

Spectators are allowed to the swim start, but must walk the 1.6 miles from the T2/Finish Area. Again, cars are not allowed in the entire Cemetery Point area.

9:15 am – Utah State Triathlon Championship Sprint Distance Start Time

4:00pm – Kids Tri Championship Start Time

Additional information

Aid Stations

Run – There are aid stations at each mile on all run courses.  Hammer Nutrition Drink, Water, and Hammer Gels will be available.

Bike – There are two aid stations on the half distance bike.  Because this is a two loop course, the aid stations are at the same location at the Hunstville Monastery.  There will be NO aid stations on the intermediate or sprint distance races.

Bike Number and Bib Number

You must attach the bike number provided in your race packet to your bike. The bike numbers have adhesive on the back that will not harm the paint on your bike frame. Failure to securely attach the number will result in a USAT time penalty. You DO NOT need to wear the bib number during the swim or bike. However, it MUST be worn during the run. Safety pins will be provided at packet pickup for those who need them.

Body marking (Friday Night & Saturday morning only)

You will be body marked on your shoulders and legs, indicating your race number, event, and age. You may then proceed to the transition area and arrange your equipment. No unregistered individuals will be allowed in the transition area for safety and liability purposes.


TriUtah believes in giving back to the community. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to various youth athletic programs.

Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather, the race directors reserve the right to modify or cancel any portion of the triathlon if weather or course conditions compromise athlete safety.


Medical personnel will be on-site. Certified lifeguards will be present during the swim on watercraft and kayaks.

Parking and Busing (IMPORTANT!)

Parking is at the Huntsville Library, LDS Church and other public parking areas surrounding Huntsville Town Park. 

Swim Caps

Swimcaps corresponding to your event distance will be provided at packet pickup. The issued cap must be worn during the swim.  We will post wave start times and assigned cap colors on Wednesday before the race.


Electronic chip timing of the event will be provided by Milliseconds. All participants will be timed and will be provided with 5 splits (swim, T1, Bike, T2, Run). Results will be posted on Saturday at http://www.milliseconds.com. Instructions for chip use will be provided in your race packet.

What Athletes Need to Know About Insurance Coverage: When an athlete purchases an annual USAT license or one-day permit, a portion of those fees goes to cover the cost to provide them with excess medical insurance. This coverage only extends to their participation in a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
