Course Maps
Swim: 300 meters
Athletes will line up according to their estimated swim time. Overhead signs will display approximate swim times (4:00 min, 4:30, 5:00, etc.) Prior to the race, you should swim 300 meters to get your best estimate! The fastest swimmers will go first. Two participants will start at the same time on opposite sides of the pool. Every 12 seconds two participants will enter the water in the outside lanes. The participants will then complete one lap (2 lengths of the pool) in the first lane, and then continue in the next adjacent lane, for a total of 6 lengths (300 meters) and finish in the center of the pool. Once the athletes complete the swim, they will exit the pool and move to the transition area located in the adjoining baseball field north of the American Fork Fitness Center. If participating friends wish to line up next to each other for the start of the race, please line up according to the slower swimmer's 300 meter time.
Bike: 12.4 miles total
The bike course will consist of a two-loop course utilizing road shoulders and will be open to vehicle traffic. After you complete the first loop of the bike course, you will continue to do a second loop of the same course. Participants will NOT be allowed to ride two or three abreast and may be disqualified by USA Triathlon officials for doing so. Participants may pass by following USA Triathlon bike rules. To view the USA Triathlon rule book, visit http://www.usatriathlon.org. Police officers will be posted at all major intersections to direct traffic. If a police officer motions for you to stop or slow down please do so!! It is for your safety! Please review the map and familiarize yourself with the route. Routes may change without prior notice but any changes will be announced during the pre-race meeting the morning of the event.
Run: 3 miles
The run course will consist of a single 3-mile loop course utilizing paved city streets or sidewalks.
Additional information:
Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located at the exit of the transition area, and at every mile on the run course. There will not be an aid station on the bike course. Each athlete will receive a bottle of water and food at the finish line.

Relay Teams
Relay teams will be issued a single timing chip, bike number, and run bib number. The chip handoff takes place inside the transition area at the assigned bike rack. You must attach the bike number provided in your race packet to your bike. It has an adhesive backing that will not cause damage to your bike frame. Failure to secure the bike number will result in a USAT time penalty. You DO NOT need to wear the bib number during the bike. However, it MUST be worn during the run.
Results
Results will be posted no later than Saturday evening on TriUtah's website and at http://www.milliseconds.com.
Safety/Medical
Medical personnel will be on-site to provide first aid and medical assistance if needed.
Timing
Electronic chip timing of the event will be provided by Milliseconds Sports Timing (http://www.milliseconds.com). All participants will be timed and will be provided with their swim, bike and run splits, as well as their overall finish time. Instructions for chip use will be provided in your race packet.
Transition Area
There will be a single transition area. You will have an assigned rack location and bikes will be racked according to bib number with ~8 bikes per rack (4 on each side). Your front bike tire should face out from the side of the rack where your nametag is located. If possible, rack your bike by placing the nose of your seat on the bike rack. There is no bike riding inside the transition area before or during the event. Doing so will result in a time penalty enforced by the USA Triathlon officials.
USAT
For general questions regarding USAT insurance, rules, regulations and membership click on the following link: http://www.usatriathlon.org/
What Athletes Need to Know About Insurance Coverage: When an athlete purchases an annual USAT license or one-day permit, a portion of those fees goes to cover the cost to provide them with excess medical insurance. This coverage only extends to their participation in a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
If you have questions specific to your coverage, please email to sanction@usatriathlon.org or call the group benefits department at ESIX at 1-800-342-4371.
Water/Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located every mile on the run. There will be no aid stations on the bike.
