A beach wave start will begin each race. Wave starts will take place ~5 minutes apart starting at 7:00am with the first Olympic wave (order of waves TBA). Sprint waves will begin following the last Olympic wave. Large orange swim buoys will be placed in a 750 meter diamond-shaped pattern north from the beach. Athletes will swim counter-clockwise (buoys on your left). The sprint event will swim once around the buoys, and Olympic athletes will swim twice around the buoys.

**Note: There will be a "shoe zone" transition area corresponding to your race number at the exit of the swim. Shoes/sandals are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The main transition area is located on a gravel parking lot, so save your feet! You will make up the few seconds it takes to put on the shoes in time saved during the short run from the water to the main transition area. Wetsuits are always recommended but not required. Water temperature should be ~70F.

Bike: (Sprint: 20K, Olympic 40K) [MAP]

Athletes will leave Echo Resort and cross onto Hwy 32 going North (left). The road will be closed to vehicle traffic for the initial 1.5 miles between the Echo Resort North and South beaches. Law enforcement will be present at both road closures.

Continue north on Hwy 32, going under the Interstate 80 overpass and turn right, continuing up Hwy 189 (Echo Canyon Road) to the turn-arounds for each event. Return back to Echo reservoir (out-and-back course).

Run: (Sprint: 5K, Olympic: 10K) [MAP]

From the transition area participants will run north (left) on the Park City Rail Trail (hard packed dirt trail). The trail parallels Hwy 32, and is completely separated from vehicle traffic. Sprint will turn around just before the Echo Resort North Beach. Olympic athletes will continue to the end of the Rail Trail. Both events are out-and-back courses, returning on the trail to Echo Resort. Aid stations will be provided every mile and will have water and ELETE Hydration products available.

Parking/Shuttles

LARGE ADDITIONAL PARKING LOT AVAILABLE! A reminder that all athletes must ride their bikes from the parking areas near the Fairgrounds to the race site on race morning. There will be NO drop-off zone near the race site. It is a two-lane road that CANNOT accommodate 1000 cars! Shuttles from the Fairgrounds for friends and family will begin at 5:30AM!!! Plan to arrive early to ensure plenty of time for your pre-race routine! The city of Coalville is hosting an antique car "Cruise In" on the same day as the triathlon. Athletes will ride their bikes to the race venue, and spectators will take the shuttle ($1/person over 8 years old). Please bring exact change. There will be no bike drop-off in the transition area on Friday.

Photography

Zazoosh! (formerly Joaquim Hailer Photography) will be at the event providing photo opportunities. Photo previews will be available for purchase early the following week.

Podcast

Tri-Talk, Utah's leading triathlon podcast provider, will be producing a podcast that will be available for download approximately two weeks prior to the event. This is a great source for up-to-date information about packet pickup, description of the courses, and more.

Registration

There will be NO day-before or day-of-race registration. No additional registrations will be accepted once online registration closes.

Relay Teams

At packet pickup, please have all team members present. You will not be given your race packet until all team members are present. Each relay team member will wait inside the transition area at your team's bike rack location where you will transfer your timing chip from one team member to another. Each team will be issued one swim cap, one bike number, one bib number, and one timing chip. Each relay team (either 2- or 3-person) will be issued a single timing chip. The timing chip will act as the relay "baton". The chip handoff will take place at your assigned bike rack location corresponding to your bike/bib number.

Swim Caps

Swimcaps corresponding to your event distance will be provided at packet pickup. The issued cap must be worn during the swim.

Timing

Electronic chip timing of the event will be provided by Milliseconds Sports Timing (http://www.milliseconds.com). All participants will be timed and will be provided with their swim, bike and run splits, as well as their overall finish time. Instructions for chip use will be provided in your race packet.

Transition Area

There will be a single transition area. The transition area will be located inside the entrance of the Echo Resort South Beach. There will be separate transition areas for Sprint and Olympic events.

Water/Aid Stations
